Configuring and Administering Virtuozzo Servers
To provide a Virtuozzo server(s) administrator with everything it takes to configure and control access to her/his servers, the Setup screen of Parallels Infrastructure Manager joins the routine administering options under the following sections:
- The Configure email messaging link in the Messaging Settings section leads to the screen where you can view the current status of the Parallels Infrastructure Manager email messaging.
- The Manage Virtuozzo Containers backup settings link in the Backups section leads to the screen where you may define the number of backups allowed for Container users and whether the default backup be full, incremental, or differential; configure the default backup compression level and the default Backup Node.
- The Manage licenses link in the Licensing section leads to the screen where you can manage your Virtuozzo licenses.
- The Security section contains the following links:
- The Manage users link leads to the screen listing the users that currently exist in Parallels Infrastructure Manager. On this screen you can create a new user or remove an existing one.
- The Manage groups link opens the screen listing the user groups that currently exist in Parallels Infrastructure Manager. On this screen you can create a new user group or remove an existing one.
- The Manage global permissions link leads to the screen where you can view the permissions of a user (group) allowing him/her to perform certain operations on all Hardware Nodes registered in Parallels Infrastructure Manager.
- The Manage roles link opens the screen listing the roles that currently exist in Parallels Infrastructure Manager. Roles are sets of abstract privileges that can be assigned to a user or a group to form a permission. On this screen you can create a new role, clone an existing role, and remove a role that you do not need any more.
- The Manage authentication databases leads to the screen where you can view a list of user databases currently registered in Parallels Infrastructure Manager. These databases are used to authenticate the users trying to log in to their Hardware Nodes thru Infrastructure Manager.
- The Network section includes the Manage IP addresses pools and Manage Virtual Networks links.
- The Manage IP addresses pools link opens the screen where you can organize the IP addresses of all Hardware Nodes registered in Parallels Infrastructure Manager into a single reservoir.
- The Manage Virtual Networks link leads to the screen listing the Virtual Networks that are currently exist on all Hardware Nodes registered in Parallels Infrastructure Manager. On this screen you can create a new Virtual Network or remove an existing one.
- The Manage Container configuration samples link in the Container Samples section opens the screen listing the Container samples that are currently installed on all Hardware Nodes registered in Parallels Infrastructure Manager. On this screen you can create a new Container sample, clone an existing sample, set a sample to be used as the default one during the Container creation, or remove a sample that you do not need any more.
